The developers of Forza Motorsports 7 has just released a new blog post revealing new details about the game. The post confirms that the game will be 95 GB at launch. And that doesn’t even include the 4K resolution patch which will be releasing in November.
“This is the largest game we’ve ever released” states Turn 10 Studios in the blog post. The Xbox One game will be 45 GB on the Blu-ray disc however, the game will also have a 50 GB update on release day. Meaning this game has a total of 95 GB. If you think that’s huge, that’s nothing.
Forza Motorsport 7 will be getting another large update in the future. This update will be releasing alongside the Xbox One X on November 7th. It will contain the assets that allow the game to run at native 4K resolution with solid 60 FPS. This update will be free for all users. There’s currently no information on how large this update will be.
This sounds humongous and the developer seems to realise this. So, they’ve made the extra 50 GB update on launch day optional. It will be an additional update which you don’t have to install on your Xbox One. However, additional content such as new events and rewards are included in this massive 50 GB update so you’d be missing out on the new Forza Driver’s Cup for example. Which is a single player campaign.
While we know that one of these updates is options, we don’t know if the 4K one is however. Turn 10 Studios hasn’t released that much information about the upcoming update in November. We can expect more news to come over the next few months however as the release date approaches.
No matter how we look at it, Forza Motorsports 7 is set to be a huge game, even if only in terms of literal size.
