The highly anticipated Enter the Gungeon will now launch on Xbox One and the Windows 10 store on April 5th. The game had already been confirmed for PC on Steam and the PlayStation 4. No word on a Switch version yet. It’s also been confirmed that the game will be part of Xbox Play Anywhere. Meaning you can cross-play and cross-buy between the two systems. Hopefully more developers will continue to use this initiative by Microsoft.

You’re given several heroes to choose from before you make your way through the procedurally-generated paths. This includes challenging traps and chasms and rooms which are all wonderfully hand-designed. As you progress, it’s going to get even more challenging! But it doesn’t stop there. You’re faced against the “Cult of the Gundead”. These enemies will do all that they can to turn you back.

Luckily your hero is pretty awesome. You choose from a group of “Gungeoneers” who are all wanting to move on from past setbacks and change their destiny. They each possess a ton of courage and determination to defeat their obstacles. It’s not just a big heart and thick skin though. There’s a huge range of weapons to unlock to takedown your enemies with. There’s the traditional missiles, lasers and cannonballs to the wacky use of rainbows, fish, foam darts and bees! Your hero also has a great set of movements so you can dodge and roll between enemies and bullets.

After the overwhelmingly positive reception to the game on Steam, it seems like this could be a game to start budgeting for. EGM NOW have touted this game as a must for fans of the genre.

Enter the Gungeon will be available April 5th on PlayStation 4, Steam, Xbox One and Windows 10. Stay tuned for our full review of the final release.

Lachlan's passion for gaming started when he played DOS games like Commander Keen and Wacky Races. His passion grew when he discovered his Aunt's Atari 2600 and was given a Game Boy for Christmas from his Pa. His favourite console has been the PlayStation 1. Right now he has become a little lazy with gaming but still enjoys the occasional FIFA session. He hopes to get back into playing games more regularly so he can switch off from the real world like he did as a Kid. He's excited about the introduction of VR and hopes for some great VR titles.
