More details about Code Vein released

Bandai Namco has now released more information about their upcoming vampire RPG. The game is set in the near future where a sudden disaster ruined the world. The game follows a closed society called “Vein” who have managed to survive. Vein is made up of a type of vampire called “Revenants” who are struggling to survive in the new world. These Revenants were once Human however.

As noted by PC Gamer, the press release states that this game is an action-RPG. It explains that these Revenants have powerful abilities called Gifts which they gained by giving up their humanity. However, they’re at risk of losing themselves in their bloodlust and becoming a “Lost”. The Lost are a group of fiendish ghouls which are “devoid of any remaining humanity”.

These Gifts allow the player to change their form to increase their strength and weaken enemies. Exact details about them are currently uncertain. The press release notes that “players can adapt and strategize” according to their playstyle. The game will also include a wide range of weapons for players to equip.

The press release confirms that players will be exploring the world with a companion. However, it doesn’t go into detail about what this companion is. It’s still uncertain if this is a AI companion or if the game supports a second player for co-op play.

It’s been confirmed that Code Vein will be getting a 2018 release. The press release states it will release for “major home consoles” which suggests Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There is currently no word on a release for the PC or the Nintendo Switch.

We will provide you with updates as we learn more about Code Vein later this year. Bandai Namco will most likely have more news about this upcoming RPG later this year at E3 2017 in June.
