Those who were unable to get into early access for the Destiny 2 Beta no longer need to sit around waiting. It’s now possible to download and play the Beta as it’s entered the Open Beta stage.

Bungie has opened the Beta to everyone on Xbox One and PS4 from today. The gates opened at 10 am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST in fact so just over two hours ago as of time of writing.

The Destiny 2 Open Beta offers player a chance to test out the campaign and multiplayer. However, the campaign is limited to the first opening mission of the game. So there’s not much for solo players to explore and enjoy. In addition to this, there’s also a Countdown mode for the Endless Vale map. It’s an attack and defend style mode where two teams have to plant a bomb in the enemies base then defend it until it explodes. Unsurprisingly, this mode is being compared to Counter-Strike and Call of Duty’s Search and Destroy mode.

In addition to the campaign and the multiplayer mode, there’s also a new Strike. The mode is called Inverted Spire which can be played cooperatively with two other players. However, matchmaking is currently available to fill any open slots that aren’t take by a pre-made team. Which is great news for those who want to try the map but don’t have enough friends on the same platform.

From July 23rd, players will also be able to visit the social space known as The Farm. Players will be able to play soccer and make friends with chickens. However, this is also the day that the Open Beta will be ending. So players have a very limited time to explore the social space.

Details on when the PC beta will be coming out are not yet known. Bungie is expected to announce this soon as they previously stated it would be held in August.
