Cuphead is one of the main reasons I wish I had an Xbox One. Honestly, Cuphead and Scalebound are the two biggest Xbox One exclusives I’d be most looking forward to, and the former is being developed on a much smaller budget. There’s something magical about it. The 1940s cartoon-style visuals, the silky smooth animations, the grainy filters, and hand-drawn characters and villains… everything about this game looks stunning and altogether unique. Ever since it was announced we’ve been wanting to know more, and when the developers revealed that it was only going to have one mode, a boss-rush mode, fans were a little disappointed.
Disappointed fans simply won’t do, so Studio MDHR went back to the drawing board and cooked up a more standard platforming mode as well. Only, there’s nothing standard about this game. IGN got a first look at what is likely one of the early levels, and of course it looks amazing – like a twisted old Disney cartoon. Check out the video below, and let us know what you think about the art direction. We’ll be waiting to see more at E3, and we’ll keep you guys updated if we learn of an official release date.
