Clone Drone in the Danger Zone Makes Positive Start on Early Access

Clone Drone in the Danger Zone has been available on Steam Early Access for over a week now gaining a lot of positive reviews. It’s an entertaining little Indie game where the player must fight to survive the different rounds in a combat arena. The player takes the role of a human whose mind has been placed into a robot body. This is all for the entertainment of the robot overlords in the arena.

Clone Drone in the Danger Zone – Plot

The main Story Mode in the game currently has two playable chapters which forward the story. The other chapters will be coming at a later date. The main story tells a tale of human defiance as the character fights to survive long enough to escape the arena. It’s a fairly straight-forward plot. However the comedic dialogue from the two commentators keeps it entertaining throughout.

Each attempt at the story is played with a different bot with a unique name. The player can upgrade their character as they progress through the rounds. At the end of each round, the player is able to go to the upgrade robot to unlock a new ability. This gives them a better chance at survival. Upgrades include different weapons which are also used by enemy robots. The player can also unlock ‘clones’ which act as another life when the player is killed.

What do I smash them with?

There are three main types of weapons in the game. Two of these can be unlocked from the upgrade robot after the player completes a level. Each weapon has strengths and weaknesses which make them better suited for specific situations. The robot commentators will sometimes talk about the different weapons in the game which is great for players who are reluctant to test out new weapons when they just want to complete the arena battles.

The upgrades are also featured in the Endless Mode and Challenge Mode. This provides the game with plenty more entertaining content. The Endless Mode features 86 level variants which is spread across five difficulty tiers where the player is aiming to reach the Titanium level tier. In addition to this, the Challenge Mode features several different unique challenges for the player to try and complete. This builds from some of the mechanics seen in the main Story Mode. These two modes are a nice addition to the game and can add hours of additional content.

But can it Twitch?

Twitch streamers should also enjoy being able to play in Twitch Mode. This mode lets viewers interact with the game to earn coins, bet on the game, spawn enemies and give the player additional hearts to help the player make it through the levels. It’s a nice little addition to the game and it certainly hasn’t taken any content away from the rest of the game.

Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is a fun indie game with a high replay value. There’s a good amount of content to play through however, the gameplay could become a little bit repetitive. Despite this, Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is a very entertaining game that provides hours of content through the different modes. The comedic nature of the game helps to increase the replayability and keeps the game quite lighthearted.

This arena brawler provides hours of lighthearted fun. It lets the player form their own playstyle to fight through the rounds with and as a result, it’s a nice addition to the action genre. The developer is still dedicated to providing new updates and content for the game.
