2016’s HITMAN is a glorious return to form for the franchise. The secret agent simulator’s improvisational take on stealth racked up awards after many initially questioned the episodic format. Episodes turned out to be the best way to approach a game that rewards familiarity of its large, complex levels.
Square Enix has been rolling out steady content in the form of Bonus Missions and Elusive Targets. The Elusive Targets are only available once, and for a limited time. This has brought criticism from those that miss their chance, but the format arguably adds to the role playing aspect of the game. Your target is in Paris for 10 days, and you can’t restart the mission once a target has been eliminated or any objectives completed.
Walter “The Blackmailer” Williams is a model on the rise with a penchant for blackmail. Your mission is to eliminate him and retrieve a memory stick he is carrying. The reward is a Tuxedo with Gloves. If you successfully complete the mission at the ‘Silent Assassin’ level, it will contribute progress towards the Winter Suit unlock.
The contract runs Jan 27th – Feb 6th 20:00 EST.
Landslide, The January Update, and the physical disc of HITMAN – The Complete First Season all release on January 31st. The release notes will be available Jan. 30th.
Agents of death will head back to Sapienza to take out Marco Abbiati, a wealthy entrepreneur/mafioso currently running for mayor of his hometown.
According to their site:
“‘Landslide’ will be available at no extra cost for owners of The Complete First Season / Upgrade Pack.
“It will also be included in The ‘Bonus Episode’ (formerly called Summer Bonus Episode), which will be made available for individual purchase on January 31st. The Bonus Episode includes 3 bonus missions: ‘The Icon’, ‘A House Built on Sand’ and ‘Landslide’. The Bonus Episode is included with disc copies of HITMAN as downloadable content.”
Happy hunting everyone.
